# 10: TETRIS

This is the absolutely best (and the only official) tetris game on the Android. I won't go into too much detail on what this is or how it is played, because (probably) has anyone already played, or a variation of this amazing puzzle game.

The good:

-The touch ' controls are simply impeccable, and I have not experienced problems that other reviewers have reported about them. I went only to level 12, but even at that speed responded everything. You'll have plenty of time to change the direction of the Tetrimino even after it falls.

-"Magic" mode puts a great spin on the classic Tetris because you set level line clear objectives and throw in a ton of cool power ups in the mix.

-There are statistics you can keep the tracks from your lines and high scores in both modes (Marathon and Magic).

-Multiple languages are supported. English, French, Dutch, Italian and Spanish. Not that there are a lot of writing here, but in any case you will be able to go through the advanced options and help file in the language of your choice.

-The Help menu you will find almost all the Tetris basics, as well as new features exclusive for this game.

-It is the classic Tetris I grew up on (with a few twists).

-The music is quite pleasant, usually remixes of original and classical music, with a bunch of new thrown in for good measure. Purists will hate this, I think it's a good change.

-Graphics are excellent. The blocks are large and bright, and the backgrounds are cool and sparkling (you can disable this call should you want to in the options menu).

-It doesn't have to be connected via WiFi or 3/4 G are played. I tried it on a Tablet PC and two phones in airplane mode. This is a single player game.

The bad:

Permissions, permissions, permissions. Oh my:

-Read only access to the phone gives an application access to this permission,-the IMEI, IMSI, and your phone number (if incoming and outgoing calls). So think of it as a huge tracking cookie who loves everything you do, and that you had no choice when installing.
Many software developers use this permissionsto track purchases and piracy. But the potential for disaster is enormous here. Many companies pay good money to get from the information above, and agree that falls into their hands ...

-Open network sockets-this authorisation gives a free range of application access to the Internet. I still don't know why this and the above permissions are required in a SINGLE PLAYER game.

-Changing the connection to the network-can the game these permissions or your WiFi connection and 3/4 G off. Most likely to force you on one of them (probably the 3/4 G a).

-Access to information about networks-working in tandem with the above permission to show EA what kind of networks that you are running.

-No VS mode. The permissions are already here, why not take Tetris online? I would probably kill (not really) to be able to play against my friends.

-$ 2.99? What for? There are literally hundreds of free or $ .99 Tetris clones that you could play on your Android device.

-No background image? I really miss the Russian Red Square and Kremlin backgrounds of PC fame.

The Ugly:

EA is know for excessive snooping and data mining. I installed stupid origin (EA's gaming service), only to have (without my permission) in itself, as well as steam games import spam emails to my address that I cant get rid of to this day.

EA's business practices and customer support are also downright terrible. I bought a copy of battlefield 3 by origin and couldn't wait to play. Later that week I saw another burden for the same battlefield 3 copy on my credit card, and immediately contacted EA support. I was told that this was a mistake and would be cared for. Weeks later, it was still not fixed.
Contact EA support again (this time I called them), I was told that I never contact them in the first place (luckily I had an e-mail message to prove otherwise).
I was then accused that I had a pirated copy of battlefield 3 ... That I bought two times ...

Long story short, I've solved the problem by returning to call and speak to someone who actually knew about what they had, I also called my credit card company and told them to block that EA and origin places cost more on my credit card for one year. Then I got a full refund of them (my credit card company).
To this day I am not sure if I still have a copy (or two) of battlefield 3 on my account origin, and I will not bother checking.

This was my one and only experience with origin. I will never, ever buy another game that that the service required. I hope that EA no longer just as a company. The only company with poorer support than EA is Lenovo.

My biggest concern about this game is that know EA practices (and after reading their EULA), I just not safe with giving this application all required permissions feel it. There is always airplane mode, and that is something to consider while playing this game.

If it were not for the incredibly intrusive permissions, I would this version of Tetris a 10 out of 5-treasure because nuclear is still a great game.

If you download it if contemporary FAOTD, make sure to play in airplane mode (or if you install a rooted device/track the ad blocking software). Otherwise stay away.
I also don't think the game in its current state is worth the asking price of $ 2.99. There are many free versions of Tetris which is also ad-and spyware free.
